Output of the Week: Drawing a Person
Share this

Little children, especially in the primary grades, when they draw a person, they use circles and sticks. True enough, using different shapes and lines, one could actually draw objects including human figures.

But if you come to think of it, a human body couldn’t actually be represented by sticks. Right?

So I did a little experiment and see if these little children can actually draw human figures like older people do. I started by modelling, I showed them how to draw a person starting from the top to the bottom. Again, I used shapes and lines but this time, something that is closer to the reality. In the end, I asked my students to draw a person in their notebooks. And yes, they were able to do it and have done it well!

My students were able to follow instructions. Some also added some features on their own. I was amazed by their creativity and I was happy with their outputs.
