Move This World-Pilipinas, Inc.will hold a three-day intensive training-workshop on a research-based empathy education curriculum and innovative practices of integrating peace education to core subjects to address bullying in schools. This is open to School Administrators, Classroom Advisers, College Professors, Advocates working in NGOs/INGOs, Youth Welfare Officers, Students in the graduate level, and all others who are interested in addressing bullying in schools. It will be on April 22-24, 2015 at Xavier University-Pueblo Campus in Cagayan de Oro City.
The training will include a Write shop, Creative Movement, Small Group Discussion, Experiential exercises, and Role-playing to convey the values of empathy, respect, active listening, cooperation, mediation skills, ethno-linguistic understanding, and emotional engagement among students through creative expression. It will also be an avenue to build a network of anti-bullying advocates in the region and close confab with other participants.
Through the innovative research-based empathy education program outlined in progressive Pre-K to 12 curriculum of Move This World, educators and youth development officers will be able to learn the tools to innovate from traditional pedagogy to address school bullying.
The following are the five (5) major groupings of topics in the conference:
- Connecting Empathy and Creative Expression: Exploring 21st Century Strategies of Character Education for Bullying Prevention
- Game-based Approach of Building Empathetic Behavior and Safe Spaces
- Integrating Peace Concepts to Core Subjects
- “Makabayan na, Empathetic Pa:” Innovative Strategies of Integrating Peace Concepts to Makabayan Subjects
- Story and Theory of Move This World Anti-Bullying Programs
